The Pentium 4 contained an interesting new feature: the L1 cache was replaced by a trace cache with 12,000 micro-ops. There were four versions: the Willamette core for P4 with 256 KB L2 cache for 100 MHz FSB - also known as Celeron 4 with 128 KB L2 cache, Northwood with 512 KB L2 cache for 100/133 MHz FSB, and a Celeron with 128 KB L2 cache for 100 MHZ FSB. The introduction of the P4 with HyperThreading - in the shape of the 3 GHz model - marked a new high point for thermal dissipation at 81.8 W.
